| an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.9 shook the Sichuan province and other parts of the world a few days ago. i was flipping pancakes at home when my dad called me out to watch the news. i was shocked to see the devastation and destruction that happened in the area where i used to live only a few years ago. after emailing many of my foreign friends who still live there, i was relieved and thankful to find that they were all accounted for, including my Chinese friend who i was really worried about.
there is a british family and a single lady still unaccounted for from the organization i used to serve with. as i was listening to NPR yesterday there are so many local people who have lost their loved ones and many who are still searching. please lift up these people and even in this time of grief and loss, let's pray that God's glory will be all the more evident in the world. He is still a good God, although many may think otherwise.

| guess where i am??.............give up??? SEOUL, KOREA baby!!!! it's a special one week visit to the motherland b/c JISUN IS GETTING MARRIED TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!! yes, our little fobby is going to be a wife in 24 hours and sherry, joyce and i get the privilege to be her bridesmaids - Korean style~ it'll be interesting to see how they do my hair and makeup...im excited! so far we've shopped, ate good food, kidnapped jisun from work and took her out for her bachelorette party, spent some quality time with my girls and ate lots of peanut M&M's. today is LOTTE WORLD, sauna, mani/pedi, picking up joyce's hanbok, and going to see my uncle. full day before the wedding...and so worth it :) jisun, i know you probably won't read this anytime soon, but i love you girl...i wish you and your husband-to-be a joyful and prosperous marriage. my prayers will be with you always. | my mom is famous on my xanga for her engrish skillz, but today im featuring my dad:
grace gets a ride to work every morning from our dad and this morning there just happened to be a lot of fog on route 9W because of the rain. so he says, "ah...there's so much traffic because of the ahn gae (fog)...mm...frog...
then corrected himself and said, "fog...fog..."
hahaha...that may just be funny to my sisters and me, but i think it's mad cute too! my parents are getting cuter as they get older

they're not sure, but doc said it looks like it's going to be a boy :*)
omg...i'm so happy for my sister and bro-in-law! im gonna feed your kid lots of candy and gum...hehe...
and a late CONGRATS TO MY LITTLE SISTER on her ENGAGEMENT TO CHARLIE KIM!

| they say 27 is a great year...i dont know why, but here are a few guesses:
1. many women get engaged by this age
2. many women get married by this age
3. many women get pregnant by this age
4. many people are beginning to realize what they are doing with their lives (?)
5. many people have established some kind of stability and are looking forward to a bright future (?)
so those are my guesses. im none of those reasons right now, but despite what "they" say about 27, my 27th year has already started with reasons why it's the best year so far:
1. loving family who celebrates my bday WITHOUT ME THERE with my mom's best dishes!
2. loving friends who buy me all-u-can-eat steak tips; stereo in my car!!!
3. finally feeling like an adult that has done her first taxes, pay bills, working, and living away from home as a non-student.
im so thankful for many things...thanks to all my friends and family who made this 27th year start off w/ a bang!
